Ricardo Sepeda, He/Him, is an Illinois native, certified barber, and licensed Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) specialist with over thirty years of experience and a heart for community. His journey has taken many forms: flight attendant, DJ, breakdancer, event organizer, but barbering has always been his calling, rooted in his Mexican heritage and a passion for the people around him.

At Calaveras Barbershop & SMP in Logan Square, Ricardo brings all of that energy together. The name Calaveras (Spanish for "skulls") is a nod to the canvas he works on every day and a celebration of each client's unique individuality. From curated playlists and live guest DJs to good conversation and neighborhood dogs stopping by, it's more than a barbershop, it's the best hangout in the neighborhood.

Suz Evans, They/Them, is a scissor-handed unicorn with a passion for unique hairstyles rooted in classic foundations. With six years of experience and a background that spans cosmetology at Truman College, a BFA from Montserrat College of Art, carpentry, set building, welding steel structures, planting trees, and even driving a dump truck— Suz brings a one-of-a-kind, hands-on perspective to the chair.

In the shop they specialize in gender-affirming styles and helping clients rebuild their relationship with their hair and appearance, while also staying active in Chicago's theater community as a playwright and set builder whose work has been produced at Trap Door Theatre and Point Blank Theater in Albuquerque. That labor-rooted, arts-driven life is exactly what fuels Suz's commitment to creating inclusive, healing spaces for the queer, trans, and creative communities they love.

Farah, She/Her, is a Chicagoland native and licensed esthetician, permanent cosmetic technician, and scalp micropigmentation artist with over 8 years of experience, and a combined 15+ years in the beauty industry. She specializes in microblading, machine shading, permanent eyeliner, and SMP, and is now an educator training the next generation of artists.

With a true passion for beauty and art, Farah also works her magic on brides, special events, and competition stages, from weddings and dance recitals to bodybuilding, weightlifting, and cheerleading competitions. Whether it's a big day or a big moment, she knows how to make her clients look and feel their best. Farah is passionate about helping clients and students feel confident in their own skin and is committed to the highest standards of service and education.
